See the Costa Brava: Ultimate Summer Villas

Take one of the world's most epic cultural destinations in Barcelona, throw in the beaches of the Mediterranean, some scenic mountains and quaint artists' villages tucked in between. May we suggest a summer in Spain? The Costa Brava area also boasts a few of our favorite European villas. Choosing one might prove as difficult as leaving this beautiful place behind at the end of your vacation…

Almiral de la Font, Costa Brava

Stretching for over 100 km of Mediterranean coastline from the Spanish-French border in the north to the town of Blanes in the south, the Costa Brava is a treasure trove of culture and beauty. Not technically part of the Costa Brava, the city of Barcelona remains just 80km down the beach, via hills dotted with wineries and picturesque Spanish villages.

Luxury Retreats has villas located both along the water and in the interior, many with good availability remaining for trips this summer. The question is, then, why the Costa Brava? Here are 5 good reasons why you should see Spain this summer:

1. It's the Climate of Course!
With summertime high in the 90s, tempered by sea breezes, it's what the high season in Spain is all about.

2. Barcelona
Located 80km south along from the coast, and even closer to some of our villas,  this epic city can not be missed. Touched by the art of Gaudi and a multicultural history many centuries old, you could walk Barcelona a million times and still not be able to take everything in.

3. 100km of Beaches
Sandy beaches are a plenty along this "wild coast," some rugged and lonely and others inviting all-night parties. Take your pick!

4. Medieval Villages
Not limited to sun, sand and sangria, the Costa Brava offers handfuls of quaint cobbled villages that once attracted the likes of Salvador Dali and other artists in need of inspiration.

5. Spanish Culture
From the spice of the flamenco dance to the spices in your tapas dish, there is no other culture in the world like that found in Spain. Spend a week (or two) and be wowed – we guarantee you'll be planning that return visit in no time.
